Manhole rehabilitation work to impact downtown traffic Monday overnight

Traffic flow in the downtown area will be impacted Monday (Feb. 8) beginning at 7 p.m. through Tuesday (Feb. 9) at 7 a.m. while manhole rehabilitation work takes place. Contractor equipment will be set up at three intersections and traffic control measures will be in place, resulting in lane shifts.

The intersections impacted will be:

  • Buffalo Street/Cherry Street
  • Buffalo Street/State of Franklin Road
  • South Roan Street/East Market Street

Drivers who cannot avoid the area should expect delays, use caution in the construction zone, and observe posted speed limits for their safety and the safety of workers.

This work is part of the City of Johnson City’s Downtown Water and Wastewater System Improvements Project. Additional information about the Downtown Water and Wastewater System Improvements Project and updates to changes in traffic patterns will be available on the City’s website at www.johnsoncitytn.org/downtownimprovementsproject.
