City announces holiday schedule changes

Please note the following schedule changes surrounding the upcoming holidays:

• City offices will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1. Please call 423-461-1643 for water and sewer emergencies.
• City Commission and Beer Board meetings originally scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 21 have been canceled.
• Johnson City Transit will be closed Dec. 23, Dec. 25-26, Dec. 30 and Jan. 1.
• Solid Waste collection scheduled for Dec. 25 will be collected on Saturday, Dec. 23. New Year’s Day solid waste collection will not be impacted. Please recycle gift boxes, cardboard packaging and paper (note: foil paper is not recyclable). Christmas trees may be placed at curb for brush collection.
• Pine Oaks Golf Course will be closed Dec. 24-25.
• Memorial Park Community Center will be closed Dec. 23 through Jan. 1.
• Carver Recreation Center and Langston Centre will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1.

As a reminder, property tax payments are due by Dec. 31. Postmarks of Dec. 31 or earlier will be honored. Penalty and interest will begin to accrue on Jan. 1.  More information about property tax payments can be found at www.johnsoncitytn.org/payments.
