Section of West Walnut Street closed beginning today
The City of Johnson City’s Public Works Department is closing West Walnut Street between Boyd Street and Simple Smiles (712 W. Walnut St.) beginning today (Wednesday, Sept. 20). The sanitary sewer and storm drain project is estimated to take until the end of November or until related work is complete. Watauga and Boyd streets will remain open.
Drivers who cannot avoid the area should expect delays, use caution in the construction zone, and observe posted speed limits for their safety and the safety of workers.
