Public Works to begin improvements on South Roan Tuesday

The Johnson City Public Works Department will close one portion of South Roan Street between West State of Franklin Road and West Walnut Street for sidewalk maintenance and conduit installation beginning Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 7 a.m.

Additionally, sidewalk and curb improvements on South Roan Street between West Walnut Street and East Highland Road will cause intermittent lane closures.

Flaggers will be present to instruct motorists. Some sidewalk areas will be impassable.

These projects are expected to be complete by Aug. 11 at 4 p.m.

Motorists should expect delays, use caution in the construction zone, and observe posted speed limits for their safety and the safety of workers.
