PVS Plastics Technology Corporation selects Johnson City for 2nd U.S. location

The City of Johnson City and PVS Plastics Technology Corporation are pleased to announce that Johnson City has been selected as the location of its second U.S. manufacturing facility. With other sites in Ohio, Germany, Hungary and China, PVS will invest over $5 million and bring more than 50 jobs to our community over the next five years.

“We are thrilled to be setting up shop so close to ebm-Papst, one of our long-time customers, in order to support its expansion in the US market for energy-efficient ventilation technology,” stated Rich Tursic, CEO of PVS Plastics Technology Corporation.

“This is a significant project to see inside the corporate limits of Johnson City,” said Economic Development Director Alicia Summers. “Not only will PVS bring large investment to our local economy but they will fill a vacant 54,000-square-foot building off West Market Street.”

PVS is an environmentally friendly plastics company that is a supplier to ebm-Papst, also located in Washington County. Summers credits the economic development win to a strong partnership between the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the Johnson City Industrial Development Board.

“PVS choosing Johnson City as the location for its second U.S. manufacturing facility is a great example of recruiting a company that is a great fit for our community,” said City of Johnson City Mayor Todd Fowler. “It will provide new jobs and further expand the manufacturing industry in this area.”

At this location, the Johnson City PVS Plastics Technology Corporation will manufacture and supply injection molding plastics for industries needing high-tech solutions. Production at the Johnson City location is scheduled to begin in September.

“As business recruitment takes place in Washington County, we love to see our existing businesses attract their supply or customer network,” said Washington County Mayor Joe Grandy. “PVS Plastics, a supplier of components to ebm-Papst which is located in the Washington County Industrial Park, is able to create operational efficiencies with their new facility.”

The company is in the process of hiring for positions such as machine operators and programmers, tool and mold technicians, and quality inspectors. Qualified candidates may e-mail the human resources administrator at b.hites@pvs-plastics.net.
