Every day, the 149 sworn men and women of the Police Department provide law enforcement service to the citizens and visitors of Johnson City. Additionally, 26 civilian employees serve the public in records, administrative, and support functions. The workforce is dedicated, well-trained, motivated , and committed to partnering with the community to keep our city a safe and secure place to enjoy life.
In the pursuit of excellence, the Johnson City Police Department has maintained its accredited status since 1993 through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, meeting exacting standards established by this professional organization. Additionally, the JCPD received accredited status through the Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation Program in 2011 and looks forward to continuing to provide quality service to the community through progressive programs, innovative technologies, and solid and dependable policing.
