The men and women of the Johnson City Fire Department are proud to serve the community. Since its inception in 1891, the Department has used dedication, training and innovation to meet the ever-growing and ever-changing needs of the community.

Today, the Department is an “all-hazards” response agency that provides many non-traditional services in addition to fire protection and emergency medical services. The Department has developed highly trained, specialized teams for Haz-Mat, water rescue, high angle rescue, and urban search and rescue. The Department also provides smoke detector installation, child car safety seat installation and fire station blood pressure checks.
