Join us just as the sun sets for a short talk on what makes an owl an owl; from their feathers and talons, on up to their amazing eyes. Afterwards, we’ll take a short walk on the wooded trails. Using specific calls, we hope to locate some of the owls that live in the park.

Whether it’s superstition, exaggeration, or just plain misunderstanding, sometime our quest for knowledge can lead to some misguided conclusions. The natural world has provided us with many myths. Light will be shed on suicidal lemmings, charmed snakes, exploding birds and more. Time to learn the straight scoop!

Some animals do some pretty odd things. In an attempt to understand, many myths were created and have lasted to present day. Learn the truth about wolves howling at the moon, beavers carrying mud around on their tails, blind bats and more. Let’s separate some good yarns from the truth.

Time to get to know your park! Join us on this 4.4 mile loop. This is a mountain and there will be some moderate uphill at times. We’ll stop at the White Rock overlook with a gorgeous view and have a snack before heading back down. Please pack water bottle, snacks and camera.  Please park at the Harris Pavilion, upper loop.
