Senior Services

The Johnson City Senior Center is a National Institute of Senior Centers/National Council on Aging accredited center. Johnson City was the first senior center in the state of Tennessee to become accredited in the year 2000 and has maintained that accreditation status.  Every 5 years the center must go through a rigorous evaluation process to become reaccredited.  The center must meet nine standards of excellence to become accredited.  Nationally there are approximately 300 accredited senior centers.
