The Planning Division is responsible for long-range and current planning for the City of Johnson City and its Planning Boundary. We are committed to proactive, community-based planning founded on public participation, and to the building of livable, sustainable communities. The Planning Division provides guidance on development, reviews zoning and subdivision applications, and shapes public policy related to growth, preservation, and development. As part of these efforts, the Planning Division coordinates three volunteer, appoint-based boards listed below.
