Sewer line work to impact traffic on Water Street today

Traffic flow on Water Street near the South Roan Street intersection will be impacted today (Dec. 2) beginning at 11 a.m. through tomorrow (Dec. 3) at 7 a.m. while sewer line rehabilitation work takes place. Temporary road ramps have been installed across both lanes of traffic on Water Street in this area. Traffic control measures will be in place near the Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church entrance and in the City-owned parking lot on Water Street.

Drivers who cannot avoid the area should expect delays, use caution in the construction zone, and observe posted speed limits for their safety and the safety of the workers.

This work is part of the first phase of the City of Johnson City’s Downtown Water and Wastewater System Improvements Project. Additional information about the Downtown Water and Wastewater System Improvements Project and updates to changes in traffic patterns will be available on the City’s website at www.johnsoncitytn.org/downtownimprovementsproject.
