Finance Department awarded Certificate of Achievement for Excellence
The Government Finance Officers Association has recognized the City of Johnson City for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019 with a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This is the 19th consecutive year the City of Johnson City has earned this distinction.
"The CAFR program encourages local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of financial reporting," said Finance Director Janet Jennings. “I am very proud of the Finance Department staff for this outstanding achievement. It demonstrates to our community that the City of Johnson City is an excellent steward of its finances."
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
