Johnson City Regional Planning Commission to hold electronic subcommittee meeting

The Johnson City Regional Planning Commission will hold a subcommittee meeting on Tuesday, May 12 at 4 p.m. to discuss the Bridge Plan.

Participants in the meeting will include staff members and members of the Long Range Planning Subcommittee. The meeting will take place electronically, pursuant to Executive Order 16, issued by Gov. Bill Lee on March 20, 2020. There will not be a physical location in order to protect public health, safety, and welfare. Citizens may access this meeting via the City’s website at www.johnsoncitytn.org/streaming.

The Bridge Plan is a preliminary assessment of the City’s 2020 Comprehensive Plan, which is set to expire at the end of this year. Staff is reviewing the 2020 plan with a focus on the Land Use Element. Any objectives that are still relevant or need to be implemented will be put forth for re-adoption with only slight modifications, if any, being proposed. The process for re-adoption is designed to be focused and efficient.

Any residents or stakeholders wishing to participate in the process may email Senior Planner Matthew Manley at mmanley@johnsoncitytn.org to receive updates and invitations for public input.
