Portion of Cherokee Road’s eastbound lane to close this week

Water and Sewer Services employees will be working at 917 Cherokee Road beginning Thursday, June 9 through the afternoon of Friday, June 10. This work will require the closure of the eastbound lane of Cherokee Road in the area.

Signage and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic around the construction zone. Truck traffic will be required to detour left on Southwest Avenue and right on JL Seehorn Jr. Road to reach University Parkway. Other traffic will be required to detour right on Sinking Creek Road and left on Ridgecrest Road to return to Cherokee Road.

Westbound traffic on Cherokee Road will not be impacted.

Drivers who cannot avoid the area should expect delays, use caution in the construction zone, and observe posted speed limits for their safety and the safety of workers.
