CANCELLED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
Johnson City will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 15 with a Unity Program and Walk. Starting at 12:00 p.m. at Carver Recreation Center, 322 W. Watauga Ave., the program will feature a series of prayers and tributes to King by local leaders.
“This event is a perfect way to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day,” said Aaron T. Murphy, Johnson City vice mayor and event organizer. “The intent of this holiday is to truly reflect on the values Dr. King instilled in us and honor his memory. The Unity Program and Walk helps us do that in a very intentional way.”
This event will take place rain or shine.
