Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MTPO)
The Johnson City Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MTPO) serves as a support agency for five local governments in developing and administering a wide range of transportation program activities. An Executive Board and Executive Staff are designated to coordinate and carry out required functions for MTPO activities. The MTPO staff works directly with the Tennessee Department of Transportation(TDOT) and federal transportation agencies in securing resources and maintaining applicable databases necessary to implement local projects. |
